The Dogwood Canoe & Kayak Club is a group of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities who share a love of paddling, the outdoors and a respect for the environment.

We paddle solo and tandem canoes and kayaks on flat water, moving water, white water, oceans, estuaries, lakes, and ponds. A number of our members sail canoes. Organized trips are planned from March to November. In the winter months you will find many of us skiing the hills or at the pool trying to nail that roll....

While there are many planned club trips there are also many more almost spur-of-the-moment outings at the mercy of tides and weather.

The next meeting of the Dogwood Canoe and Kayak Club will be on Wednesday May 24 at 7:15pm at the Wesburn Community Centre, 4781 Parkwood Ave. in Burnaby.

Tereza Cabral is going to do a presentation about her last trip, on July 2022, to Aracaju city (capital of Sergipe state in Brazil) - including a short paddling at the mouth of the Poxim River, along the mangroves.

A social evening will follow the meeting. Bring some goodies to share.

Tea will be provided.

DC&KC registration form & fee:

A reminder to all about bringing in a completed membership/registration application (blank form is on the website) and fee (cash or cheque). All members (paddling or not) need to complete the form. It would be nice to have this done for the AGM (Annual General Meeting) Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

The annual Membership Fees remain the same as last year.

Dues are:

$35.00/year Full Membership
(Max. 2 adults living in the same household.)

$20.00/year Single Membership
(Single paddling adult member.)

$15.00/year Associate Membership
(Must be living outside of the lower mainland)

If you do not have a boat or a paddling partner, please still contact the trip contact as we often have folks who have all the gear but for whatever reason are “missing” their partner that week!

While the club does not have meetings during the summer we continue to paddle on Wednesdays and weekends.
